I think the information that I deleted is no longer relevant and obviously hurtful. Mike has coached my son for the last five years and his decades-ago insensitive remarks and unindicted assault charge have no relevance to what he is doing for the community now. He devotes nearly all of his time to teaching kids---especially in lower-income neighborhoods---how to excel at baseball. The version of the page that I edited makes him seem like some kind of monster. And it refers to an "unnamed" child (Cal) who is now 12 years old and one of my son's best friends. If Mike were now in prison, this would be relevant. It is now character assassination and should be eliminated. 2600:387:C:6A12:0:0:0:5 (talk) 20:31, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You removed important information that *I* provided (children's names and existence) and his charitable works. What is wrong with you? 2600:387:C:6A12:0:0:0:5 (talk) 20:42, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Short version, when in a dispute seek compromise on the talk page instead of edit-warring, long-version below.

Information icon Hi 2600:387:C:6A12:0:0:0:5! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Mike Bacsik (2000s pitcher) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Mike Bacsik (2000s pitcher), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 21:48, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly also need to review WP:NPA, edit summaries like this are going to get you blocked in a hurry, see also WP:SUMMARYNO. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 21:54, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

May 2022[edit]

I have indefinitely blocked you from editing Mike Bacsik (2000s pitcher), although you are free to make well referenced edit requests at Talk: Mike Bacsik (2000s pitcher). I agree with you that the content about the tweet that cost him his job does not justify such prominence in the lead. But attempts to remove well-referenced content from the encyclopedia are whitewashing. This is a neutral encyclopedia that summarizes what reliable sources say about the topic. And several reliable sources discussed this tweet, which had significant real world consequences for this person. Please read the Guide to appealing blocks.
