January 2024[edit]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Louisiana shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
No edit war after noon. That is the time required in the Louisiana state constitution.2601:447:4100:C30:14A7:D353:DB23:BA72 (talk) 17:54, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not the point. WP is not a real-time source of information. Reverting edits on a basis of minutes serves absolutely zero encyclopedic value to the project, and is inconsequential in the lens of history. Edit warring is prohibited, period. Doesn't matter why. Your previous edits are currently under review, and future violations of WP policy will result in warning escalations and administrative action. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for reverting your recent experiment with the page Louisiana. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead, as someone could see your edit before you revert it. Thank you. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 18:02, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

But you did not get me to revert it. I did that on my own free will and waited until the right time, noon.
No, I did not get you to revert it. You reverted your own edit, which is why it is called a self-revert. This is not allowed. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 18:07, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at User talk:2601:447:4100:C30:14A7:D353:DB23:BA72, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Picard's Facepalm (talk) 18:06, 8 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
