Polyna Stoska was an American soprano and voice teacher.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Stoska was trained as an opera singer at the Juilliard School in New York City.[1] She began her career performing in opera houses in Europe from 1933 through 1940; achieving particular success in the dramatic soprano roles of Richard Wagner.[1] She returned to the United States after the outbreak of World War II.[1] In 1942 she signed a contract with Columbia Artists Inc., and toured the United States in concerts nationally under their management that year.[2][1] In July 1942 she was featured on NBC Radio Network in the program Polyna Stoska and the Al Goodman Orchestra with conductor Deems Taylor leading the orchestra and Stoska in performance of works from operas and operettas.[3]
