- The UNSD says 'Therefore, following consultation with other international and supranational organizations active in official statistics, the “Developed regions” and “Developing regions” were removed from the "Other groupings" of the M49 in December 2021.' See 'Note on developed and developing regions' at https://unstats.un.org/unsd/methodology/m49/
- Also, the UNSD stated that 'The updated classification reflects a recent action by the Republic of Korea to be considered part of developed regions.' in 'What is the distinction of “Developed regions” and “Developing regions”?' in the 'Questions & Answers' section at https://unstats.un.org/unsd/methodology/m49/

[edit]Hello, I'm 117.53.77.84. I noticed that you recently removed content from UN M49 without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. 117.53.77.84 (talk) 17:17, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
