Please don't replace "Washington, D.C" with "District of Columbia[edit]

For all intents and purposes, they're the same. The city government is the district's government, and it's probably better known as the city. The previous wording is preferable, and in some cases, needed. In the case of the navbox, changing the links to ones that redirect to the target article means that the links in the navbox no longer appear in unlinked boldface text on the appropriate target articles.

Additionally, your edits are grammatically problematic. The name of the district on its own needs to be prefaced with "the", while the city does not. So changing a sentence to read "... in Washington, D.C." to "... in District of Columbia" is improper grammar; it would need to be changed to "... in the District of Columbia" (emphasis added).
