haymarket riots/anarchism template/may day
I'm confused, you seemed to be a vandal from the haymarket riots and anarchism article, but as I'm rolling through your earlier edits, they seem to be actual edits which contribute to wikipedia.
Did you want to remove the template because you didn't believe the riots were intrinsically connected to anarchism, and that is why you also blanked the template? As for mayday, I will go over your edit there, I think I was wrong to undo it, though certain sections were unclear.-- Revolutionary Left | Che y Marijuana 08:13, Apr 19, 2005 (UTC)
There is no grounds on which to claim the Haymarket Riot for the anarchists, any more than it would be right to attribute May Day exclusively to communists, or John Brown to Anti-Racist Action. I removed the glaring anarchist logos, etc. and the designation that "This is Part of the Anarchism series," because the Haymarket Riot is universal across the Left. I did not do it to be a vandal.
I was under the impression that the Parsons were members of Bakunin's International. Correct me if I am wrong. DJ Silverfish 20:15, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)
There were many different types of people involved in the Haymarket incident. The basic thrust of this refusal to link Haymarket to anarchism stems from the fact that Haymarket, like the Paris Commune, is used as a historical core by both communists and [anarchists]]. So I fail to see how it is appropriate to attribute Haymarket to an "Anarchism Series."
There was an attempted slandering of the PLP in its definition article earlier today, so I've spent some of my time cleaning that up. What I can do is try to determine the best headings for various parts and group things together more cohesively; then if others have better titles and/or suggestions, they're free to input.
Hey, don't look at me, I think you must mean someone else. All I've done is fix a few typos and that kind of thing. Good to see someone from the party editing it, too. I don't agree with them about a lot of things, but I have read their newspaper Challenge on occasion. Everyking 06:14, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
I apologize. That was a technical error on my computer that messed up the whole article, so I had to restore it from a cached page. Sorry!
Communist Workers Party (US), Greensboro Massacre and Orangeburg Massacre are getting attention from a User:TJive, who is beginning an aggressive POV rewrite. I'd appreciate your checking in on these pages. DJ Silverfish 14:58, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
from my check-in
From my check-in it appears that you are doing a fine job of staving off the rewrites. I will be here when you need me, but unless you give more specifics I'm not exactly sure what I could do to help.
