There's already a definition: "the people as a lineage group sharing a territory, language and culture". Why want to change it? It's great that you want to contribute to this free online encyclopedia. No one is born an encyclopedia editor (how many professional encyclopedia editors in the world are there even?), and starting to really understand how to make the good changes, that improve articles for the benefit of our readers, is a trial-and-error process that takes a certain amount of time. During this, other editors will keep telling you that you are making various mistakes. This is necessary, and such mistakes are fine, as long as you acknowledge such messages as useful guidance and demonstrate in your subsequent edits that you understand the most important things. You will only get "banned" if this process doesn't work for you.
