You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but I highly recommend that you create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits such as the ability to create articles. For a full outline and explanation of the benefits that come with creating an account, please see this page. If you edit without a username, your IP address (85.210.3.125) is used to identify you instead.
In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}}
before the question on this page. Again, welcome! William M. Connolley (talk) 22:46, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Talk pages
[edit]Don't use talk pages for conversations with individual editors. People have talk pages; use those William M. Connolley (talk) 22:46, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- William, in future will you please refrain from using discourteous langage. There is no need for anyone particularly someone as experienced as you to forget their manners and act like some nazi stormtrooper yelling instructions - and I strongly suggest that in future you refraim from falsely pretending that you have some position in wikipedia and can tell people like me what to do - you know you don't, you know you can't so why try to pretend you do? 85.210.3.125 (talk) 23:14, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- It is rather ironic to talk about "discourteous language" and then wander off into a rant about stormtroopers. As to tell you what to do: I did: you've done it William M. Connolley (talk) 23:39, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
- William, please accept this as some well intentioned advice: you come across in your writing as an extremely rude and arrogant individual, hopefully this is not what you intend, but this is how I perceive you from the way you write. If you want to behave that way, then there are plenty of blogs where you can go, but if you want to stay in Wikipedia then as far as I am aware Wikipedia does not condone such behaviour! Please don't do it! 85.210.3.125 (talk)
- And just in case you don't have the slightest clue what I'm talking about ... if you want someone to do something then please .... please just use a bit of common courtesy and use those nice little words that tell me you are not some nazi ... please, thankyou etc. 85.210.3.125 (talk) 00:16, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
