Requesting for unblock

[edit]

Hi, I want to report that my account was blocked by user Graham87. I am blocked because Graham87 thought that I made a disruptive editing, which is not correct because I only once repaired some grammar mistakes on some pages (which is justified on some occassions). My block expires for one year, so the user probably made a sudden and abrupt conclusion in that situation. Because of this, I request to unblock. 89.164.37.52 (talk) 19:12, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Graham87: Can you expand on the reason(s) for the block. Looking at the contribs page I don't see any warnings on any any of the IP talk pages that edit on this range. Also, I've scanned the edits and the ones I reviewed were gnomish improvements to grammar and punctuation. -- Ponyobons mots 19:44, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, in some I made mistakes but not all by the way. That block was put several hours ago, which I did not know. Only I want to be unblocked, but I also promise that I will not return to the pages where that user "tagged" me, and secondly, after unblocking, I will no more editing because I am tired and want to get away from it. Also, this was only this year for editing, brief one, but for previous years I was never involved, that was somebody else regarding the contribution page what you asked before (from 14.-21. for example). 89.164.37.52 (talk) 20:05, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What I noticed was mass-edits that ranged from pointless to detrimental (see my edit summary there and particularly note the part about punctuation and image captions). I blocked without warning because the editing pattern was so bizarre. Why were you making rapid edits like this, especially without an account? As we say here, "" Trying to make serious edits to Wikipedia as an IP editor is like blindly blundering through the countryside on the first day of hunting season dressed like a moose.". It makes no sense that you want to be unblocked but you are also tired of editing. The whole thing just seems very suspicious to me. Graham87 01:20, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Graham87. I didn't doubt that was a good reason for the block, I just couldn't piece it together without your input. -- Ponyobons mots 17:00, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Mister Ponyo, I want you to analyze his statement. About article "Pike's Peak Gold Rush", I should not have made that mistake, especially putting dots in image captions. As for punctuations, it varies: some correct, some not; for this article what I mentioned, I should not touch that. Ok, I am not tired of editing, but I would not touch those where he done to me. By the way, every non-registered user has right to edit if there was some mistake; not necessarily always vandalise or similar. About what he asked me... it seems that he wants to demonise my work which was not entirely detrimental. Also, it looks that he wants forcefully push a non-registered user, such as me, to make own account name in order to continue editing; for now I am not considering to do it, but I will think about it. The question is whether you agreed with him or not, or to be precise do you trust to my statement or him. 89.164.37.52 (talk) 02:13, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will wait for your answer about this matter. If you agree with him, then fine. 89.164.37.52 (talk) 02:55, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Note that I'm not a Mister. If you are making frequent errors, that's an issue. Your comments above are concerning, specifically "As for punctuations, it varies: some correct, some not" and "not entirely detrimental". In addition, casting aspersions against the blocking admin by stating they are demonising your work and forcing you to create an account is not helpful. All in all I don't believe your response here is enough to consider unblocking. You can make another appeal using the unblock template {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} on this page and another admin will review. Please read WP:GAB for further instructions.-- Ponyobons mots 17:00, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
