Redirects

[edit]

Could you please explain why you are editing so many redirects as a new user? Have you edited as an IP or with another account? Additionally, I am going to request that your changing Circle Line (disambiguation) to Circle Line(disambiguation) be reversed, as the latter is clearly incorrect. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:02, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to move Circle line (London Underground) to Circle Line but it had errors so i tried doing it on different pages but it instead created a few different pages and double redirects. 9-11Attack (talk) 20:07, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why were you trying to move it when there's already a disambiguation link to that page on top of the London Underground page, and where the disambiguation page has existed since 2005? You shouldn't be moving pages that have existed for so long without developing a consensus. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:11, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Same thing goes for changing long-standing redirects. These edits are disruptive because other pages link to those redirects already and you can't just have them redirect to something new all of a sudden. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:17, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As an example, Ksi has long redirected to the unit of measurement. Changing the redirect to KSI would then cause anyone clicking on the former wikilink to go to the wrong article. voorts (talk/contributions) 20:35, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Actually Ksi has long redirected to KSI (disambiguation) and has been changed many times to redirect to KSI and reverted back to KSI (disambiguation). It only recently got changed to redirect to the unit of measurement by another user. 9-11Attack (talk) 20:39, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It's been that way for over a year. In any event, you didn't redirect it to KSI (disambiguation). voorts (talk/contributions) 20:43, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thats because nobody decided to change the redirect since and other people didn’t revert it. 9-11Attack (talk) 20:47, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The page move still left a redirect so the original page now redirects to the new page so i am now unable to undo the page move as it gives an error saying a page under that url already exists. 9-11Attack (talk) 20:46, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've requested that everything be fixed at WP:RM/TR. voorts (talk/contributions) 21:11, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

My “disruptive edits” were not meant to attack IShowSpeed. The IShowMeat redirect was meant to redirect to the flashing incident section which was nicknamed IShowMeat. That page had no intention to attack IShowSpeed. My account is not a sockpuppet of any other account on wikipedia. I just use VPNs to edit on wikipedia because it keeps me safe on the internet. So you may see the same IP addresses as other accounts because many people use VPNs for the same reasons that other people do. And I am also requesting a username change too.

Decline reason:

Having checked all of your editing history, I have seen no significantly constructive editing, and a large amount of unconstructive editing, so I don't see any case for thinking that unblocking you would benefit Wikipedia. JBW (talk) 21:10, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
