Advertising pages

[edit]

Hello, A.raijekov, and welcome to Wikipedia. An article you recently created, Mediabox, has been tagged for speedy deletion because its content is clearly written to promote a company, product, or service. This article may have been deleted by the time you see this message. Please keep in mind that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not an advertising service. Thank you. Seraphimblade 11:13, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

mediabox is open source art work, not a product :)

[edit]

mediabox is unique open source art work, not a product :)

Open source content is still a software product, though a product of collaboration rather then corporation. A page clearly written to promote an open source project still qualifies as advertising, which is why I tagged the article. If you can establish notability of the project and rewrite in a neutral style I'll happily withdraw the deletion tag. Seraphimblade 11:20, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okey, I will rewrite it.
Please also note that it is not acceptable, and may be considered vandalism, to remove a speedy deletion tag from an article you authored. As I stated, I'll withdraw the nomination if notability and neutrality can be established, but as yet that is not done. The article is still clearly promotional and makes no notability assertion, and is still qualified for speedy deletion. Seraphimblade 11:26, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, forgot to add-if you oppose speedy deletion, you may add the {{hangon}} tag to the article and state your case or intentions on the article's talk page. An administrator will see this tag and check the talk page before making a decision on whether or not speedy deletion is warranted. Seraphimblade 11:34, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The file File:Mediabox-front-small.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
