Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Washout filter, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Yunshui (talk) 08:51, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Removing Speedy at Washout filter[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from Washout filter. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
  2. This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willingly to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 08:56, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems with Washout filter[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Washout filter, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Washout filter and send an email with the message to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Washout filter with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Washout filter.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Yunshui (talk) 09:15, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You need to rewrite this article in order to do the following:

  1. Establish what a washout filter actually is. The current article provides no information on this topic.
  2. Avoid copy-pasting from other websites (see above). This could constitute a violation of copyright.

Removing Speedy at Washout filter[edit]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Washout filter. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:27, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the speedy template on this article - obviously it still needs expansion, but it's clearly no longer a candidate for WP:A1. I'd also like to apologise if my tagging seemed a bit aggressive. Nice work on sprucing up the article. Yunshui (talk) 10:34, 19 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
