Block message:

The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open or anonymizing proxy, such as a VPN service. To prevent abuse, these proxies may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

If you are using an open proxy or VPN service, you will need to disable it or turn it off in order to edit Wikipedia.

If you believe you are not using an anonymizing proxy, the most likely cause is that another customer using your IP address who was previously assigned this IP address was running an open proxy. You may appeal this block by adding the following text on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Caught by an open proxy block but this host or IP is not an open proxy. My IP address is _______. Place any further information here. ~~~~}}. You must fill in the blank with your IP address for this block to be investigated. Your IP address can be determined here. Alternatively, if you wish to keep your IP address private you can use the Unblock Ticket Request System.

More rarely, your network equipment or that of your service provider may be misconfigured or compromised by malicious software (such as a virus). For more information, see the WikiProject on Open Proxies.

Administrators: The IP block exemption user right should only be applied to allow users to edit using an open or anonymizing proxies in exceptional circumstances, and they should usually be directed to the functionaries team via email. If you intend to give the IPBE user right, a CheckUser needs to take a look at the account. This can be requested most easily at SPI Quick Checkuser Requests. Unblocking an IP or IP range with this template is highly discouraged without at least contacting the blocking administrator.

Decline reason: I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Daniel Case (talk) 17:08, 21 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a rural satellite HughesNet internet service provider connection. I am the only user at this internet address. This is not a proxy or zombie computer.

I am Lisa June Cox, Attorney, Jackson, Tennessee, 38305 (lisacox@tennesseeinjurylaw.com). I graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1983, and have been a practicing attorney since that time. I have never used Wikipedia for anything other than to add the following article, which was primarily the reason my Username "Abergine" was created.

I attempted to create the following article because David Hogan's name and credited work appears throughout Wikipedia, but he does not not a proper page, nor are his credit linked to even a stub page. The folliwng is exactly what I posted; and for further verification, following my proposed page edit is a list of his directorial credits, which include Grammy nominations, American Music Awards, and the exhibition of one of the music videos in the Museum of Modern Art.

David Hogan, American Music Video and Film Director

David Glen Hogan(born August 14, 1948) is an American music video and film director, best known for directing hundreds of music videos for many noted musical artists such as: Prince, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Steve Miller, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, and Marc Anthony. He received an American Music Award for Best Music Video with "Dixieland Delight" by the country music group, Alabama (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZXNHdQ8EtE&feature=fvsr), and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Music Video of the Year for Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video in 1996, for Dave Matthews "Ants Marching."

Each of the following may be verified from within Wikipedia, or from other sources. I have not attempted to enter each into a page edit on David Hogan, because dates are required for each item, and the completition of the date identification is a work in progress:
