User talk:Abigail Mbalo
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Abigail Mbalo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Abigail Mbalo-Mokoena, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

before the question. Again, welcome! -- D'n'B-t -- 18:32, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Good day, I needed to edit my surname and remove ex husband details as I am now divorced. Hope the edit is in order. Please do let me know if there’s more information required from me for this edit. Thanks Abigail Mbalo (talk) 18:38, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Would you be able to point to any published source that says this? If not, we could still remove the ex-husbands details but there's a chance that someone would put them back further down the line. -- D'n'B-t -- 18:47, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there is no published source except for our divorce decree (Abigail Mbalo (talk) 18:59, 14 July 2024 (UTC))
- Okay. Well I've edited out the surname and ex-husbands details. I'm assuming good faith here as I haven't verified your identity: it would still help us if you could point to a source, which for these purposes could be a tweet or similiar. -- D'n'B-t -- 19:12, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

- @Abigail Mbalo: Welcome! I understand you're trying to edit the article about yourself, based on information that isn't publically available. I appreciate why you may want to do this; and like D'n'B, I assume that you have good reasons.
- Maybe you can assist us, to ensure that the changes aren't reverted, and that no fake information is added to Wikipedia. By far the easiest option would be this: Make a post with some social media account that's clearly linked to you (like on Twitter), where you confirm the recent changes, and maybe even that the edits made to the Wikipedia article were yours. Once you're done, post a link to your post here.
- I understand that this means extra effort to you. We're just trying to make sure that the information in the article remains reliable, which hopefully is in your interest as well. Thank you for your help! Renerpho (talk) 19:46, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
