R160A and R160B option order 2

When the R160A and R160B option 2 orders begin to arrive and be delivered, which subway lines are they going to be assigned to and what yard will they be based out of? (96.232.0.151 (talk) 22:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)).

I don't know where they will be assigned but logic says Jamaica Yard. The remaining R32s, R40Ms, and R42s there will be retired. The remaining R32s on the C will probably be replaced by R44s or R46s. Just reading the tea leaves, it could be completely different. Acps110 (talk) 16:15, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

So, since the R160A and R160B option 2 orders are going to the jamaica yard, what subway lines in the yard are they going to run on and be assigned to? (96.232.0.151 (talk) 22:43, 28 June 2009 (UTC)).

Jamaica Yard serves the E, F, G, R and V trains. Here's a List of New York City Subway yards that lists services served. Currently, only crews that operate E, F, J, L, M, N, Q, W, and Z trains have been trained to operate R160s. Given the pervasiveness of the R160s, it is only a matter of time until ALL B division crews are trained.
When signing posts, only the four tildes is necessary. Wiki software will automatically expand that out to a link to your user page (or contributions by your IP address if not logged in), your talk page and the time of the post. (Also, keeps the SineBot from coming behind you and signing for you.) ;-) This is useful to follow the discussion and helps to know when to archive (or delete) the discussion. (My talk page is automatically archived.) The <nowiki> part of the above example is to force the software not to take it literally and just display it as written. The semicolon at the beginning of my response will indent to aid in readability. Acps110 (talk) 17:10, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

Is it true that the R160A and R160B option 2 orders are going to be for the E and F lines, when they arrive and are delivered to the mta property? I am just asking this question, because since all of the R160A option 1 order and some of the R160Bs from option order 1 are assigned to E and F lines are are based out of the Jamaica yard, dosen't that mean that jamaica is going to recive more R160As and R160Bs from the second option order to completely fill up the E and F lines by making them 100% R160. (96.232.0.151 (talk) 18:06, 28 June 2009 (UTC)).

There are more R160s on order than Jamaica Yard has 60-foot cars, (R32, R40M, R42). Until the crews are trained, E and F only. Once all the shuffling is done, Jamaica Yard will only have R46s and R160s. They will run them on which ever services as needed. The yard assignments also have to do with crew training in the shops. Jamaica, Coney and ENY currently know how to work on the R160s. Acps110 (talk) 18:32, 28 June 2009 (UTC)

When the R160Bs from the option 2 order begin to arrive and be delivered to the mta property, will they have alstom traction motors or siemens traction motors? (96.232.0.151 (talk) 19:13, 28 June 2009 (UTC)).

I don't know that. Acps110 (talk) 19:41, 28 June 2009 (UTC)
