[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Reclaiming The Blade, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 20:51, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

[edit]
Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia, because it appears to be mainly intended or used for promotional purposes of a company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

In addition, accounts are for individuals only, not for companies or groups or other collective editing, and your username should reflect this.

Wikipedia is not a promotion website; this kind of activity is considered spam on Wikipedia, and forbidden by policies, and usernames that appear to be promotional also violate our username policy. Editing on Wikipedia is not intended to be used to promote anyone, or anything, and its use for that purpose will result in blocking of the account involved.

If you feel that there has been a mistake, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} on your user talk page or contacting the administrator who has blocked you. Your reason should include a clear response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy. Please check that your new username has not already been taken here. Nja247 22:05, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

[edit]

{{unblock}} I was unaware of the restriction against editing articles with which one is personally affiliated. I fundamentally disagree that this is the best way in which to provide comprehensive information on a subject, but can understand and appreciate the issues that may arise from such contributions and edits. Perhaps if content that was contributed by an involved party were simply denoted it might better reflect the source of the content while still allowing for accuracy in situations where the best qualified contributor on the subject happens to be someone already involved. In any case, I want to make sure that I proceed appropriately from this point forward and would like to ask that this account be either unblocked or converted to a personal username (adnymarc). In addition, I would ask that and admin point me in the right direction as to how to best proceed in the current situation. Of particular interest is the connections made between the film (Reclaiming The Blade) and other relevant Wikipedia articles as well as the status of the current article. Finally, I would like to request that the article be edited by an impartial 3rd party and will be happy to provide third party sources from which to verify content. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Per below discussion; please bear in mind when editing the encyclopedia the advice I issued below. I'd also invite you to file a request to have your username changed.

Request handled by: AGK 11:59, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

  • You've presented a solid argument for being unblocked, and I'm inclined to offer you a second chance after reviewing your case. However, I'd like to solicit the opinion of the blocking administrator before coming to a decision, and so I've placed your request on hold until Nja247 has had a chance to offer his input. In the interim, I'd invite you to familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's site policies (if you haven't already done so)—in particular, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view—and with our behavioural guidelines—in particular, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.
I'd additionally note that I'm considering proposing that you agree to be renamed to a more neutral username (I note that you've suggested adnymarc, which is agreeable to me) be made a condition of any unblock.
    Regards, AGK 22:55, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have my support in accepting this request as most of the policy issues seem covered. Cheers. Nja247 07:57, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Reclaiming The Blade poster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Reclaiming The Blade poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:15, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
