If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Champagne School of Management, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Pichpich (talk) 13:35, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, thank you for taking the time to create a page here. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you created yourself. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the deletion tag you removed from Champagne School of Management. Please do not continue to remove the deletion tag, instead, if you disagree with the deletion, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the page by clicking this link. Once there, select the button that says Click here to contest this speedy deletion.
  2. This will take you to the talk page, where you can make your case by explaining why the page does not meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do. For further help about the deletion, you could contact the user who first placed the tag or a highly active user who is willingly to help with deletion. This message was left by a bot, so please do not contact the bot about the deletion. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 13:42, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

September 2011[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with this edit to Champagne School of Management. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Status and Advice[edit]

Let me give you some more focussed help. As reviewing administrator, I removed the page, because regardless of what the French Wikipedia may do, this sort of presentation of the material is not acceptable here; it is excessively promotional and would need complete rewriting. I'm one of the admins who works most often on university articles, so let me explain how to do it here:

We do not give details of the content of individual academic courses, to the extent many of the articles in the French Wikipedia does; we list the programs, and state their main objectives, but we would never go into the detail of what is taught in each year of a program, or the detailed requirements for admission. Looking in contrast at some of the articles in the French Wikipedia, the nearest I see to an English Wikipedia entry is the one for École normale supérieure (rue d'Ulm — Paris) .

Looking at the articles on a few major US business schools in our Wikipedia, two very good ones are Johnson Graduate School of Management. Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania Three fairly good ones with some problems are the Harvard Business School and Columbia Business School have an excessive number of adjectives of praise, what we call WP:PEACOCK words, and too much use of management jargon; the emphasis on ranking at Yale School of Management strikes me as excessive),

What you basically need to do is use the information in the French article to rewrite from scratch. I think it will give a much better result than translating it and using the parts. But if you want to try it, do so, but be more selective in what you translate. And there is another difference from the French Wikipedia- in general, English Wikipedia article need to have references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Our density of 3rd party referencing is typically much higher than the French Wikipedia for most sorts of articles. And we almost never use collapsed sections.

Include only material that would be of interest to a general reader coming across the mention of the school and wanting the sort of information that would be found in an encyclopedia. Do not include material that would be of interest only to those associated with the school, or to prospective students--that sort of content is considered promotional.

As a general rule, a suitable page will be best written by someone without Conflict of Interest; it's not impossible to do it properly with a conflict of interest or as a paid press agent, but it's much more difficult: you are automatically thinking in terms of what the subject wishes to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know. If you think you can do it right according to our guidelines, do so--it is discouraged, but not forbidden, but expect the article to be carefully checked for objectivity.

Your user name is the name of a commercial public relations agency. This is not actually prohibited here, but nobody does it, because the feeling here against Conflict of Interest and promotional writing is so great, that it would be prejudicial. Please choose a neutral name.

If I can help you further, let me know on my user talk page. DGG ( talk ) 14:58, 21 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.
