You make a fair point, in that it can be confusing when sandbox edits are trashed as soon as you make them. It's also very annoying when you use the sandbox as an experienced editor to do some arcane Wikitable stuff just to have it trashed by someone trying out their very first edits!
As you're a registered user you're in a position to make a private sandbox of your own. Simply create a page called, say User:Ahhii/Sandbox and edit it to your heart's content (remember though that WP rules on such things as copyright violation, defamation and the like apply to pages in an editor's own userspace as well as in "mainspace", where the articles live) and that it's only your "own" sandbox to the extent that any page on WP is "yours", i.e. you do not "own" it in any sense and any editor is technically free to edit it as long as they're within WP guidelines.
