Wikipedia has a Manual of Style which helps us keep articles consistent in certain ways, such as writing the first thing
rather than the 1st thing. Don't worry if you occasionally write something in a different style – someone will be along to improve it soon – but edits which change text into other styles are likely to get reverted.
