[edit]A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:16, 29 February 2012 (UTC)Here are a few key questions:
- Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
- Do you understand conflict of interest?
- Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:17, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

- Please note that your unblock request must address the 3 key concerns above. You should also be aware that if "AB" in "ABMark" stands for "Alpha Bricks", then it will likely be considered to be representing the company still. (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:57, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
AB does not refer to AlphaBricks. Its my dog an American Bulldog named Mark, hence ABMark. (fixed so it doesn't waste another unblock request)

- Once again, in order to provide yourself the best chance of being unblocked, you need to address the 3 key concerns listed immediately under your original block notice. This is not simply a case of your username: it's about WP:COI and WP:PROMO. As per the guide to appealing blocks, an unblock request that does not address all the issues surrounding the block will be declined (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 09:51, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- Uh, B, the block template you used does not comport with what you are saying here or the block settings you used. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:42, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
- (Yup...I didn't want to change block settings after finding out a few more spammy things - figured we could all deal with it as humans through common sense :-) ) (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 11:02, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
