Welcome

[edit]

Hi, Angela - nice to see you updating a bunch of pages re. veganism, humane slaughter, etc. You might want to discuss some of your chages on the talk pages prior to posting them as they'll have a better chance of surviving, particularly since a lot of those pages are constantly being disputed. Bob98133 19:34, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bob98133. Thank you for the welcome and for your help! I'm new here so I have a lot to learn. I just read through a lot of the Veganism talk page and see what you mean. I will do that in the future as needed. So far I've only done minor edits, mostly adding related internal links and also a few external links. Thanks again! Angela C 08:43, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PETA

[edit]

Hi - a small change to your recent post to Veganism - I removed PETA from the text and shortened it. Often noting a sight as PETA gets it questioned, but the accidental vegan items should stay up on the page. Thanks for posting Bob98133 17:56, 14 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know! I also fixed it on the other two articles I added it to ;). It looks better as well... Thank you again! Angela C 03:39, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject banners

[edit]

Hey, Angela C. Just as a heads-up, WikiProject banners are supposed to be placed on talk pages only, not within the articles themselves. I reverted your edit to Brown Rice for that reason. Thanks, and happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 00:23, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Hersfold! I appreciate it. I know that they go on the talk page and have done 50+ already... I must have been editing way too long that night! I just looked at Brown rice and the other two banners (cleanup and citing sources) kind of make it look like a Talk Page, when tired anyway. I also looked through my contributions and the others are fine. :) Thanks again! Angela C 06:05, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate all the Project tagging you've been doing, but just as a small request, it would be even more helpful if you could rate the articles at the same time as you add them to Projects. Having been on a bit of a drive to assess all the Unassessed food & drink articles, and having nearly got under the 500 mark, it was a bit depressing to find suddenly 800 needed assessment! It's quite easy, instead of a simple {{WikiProject Food and drink}} you put on the Talk page something like {{WikiProject Food and drink|importance=Mid|class=Start}}. Some other projects have other tags you can use - for instance the Wine Project would allow {{wine|class=stub|importance=low|needs-photo=yes|listas=Doe,John}} . For articles on a specific national food, then you might want to request a photo from people in that country with the separate tag eg {{reqphotoin|Japan}} It's fair enough if you don't feel qualified to judge an article, but even filling in one out of Class or Importance would help - if in doubt it's probably best to go 'low' on Class (ie Stub or Start, as that way they'll be tackled sooner by the stubkillers), and if in doubt then a Mid rating will probably be only one category out :-) (although things like individual varieties of fruits will usually always be low, as will most "non-notable" recipes and brands). The Project stats (either at Wikipedia:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Food_and_drink_articles_by_quality_statistics if you want to see the history, or the Project homepage for the current status) allow you to keep track of how we are doing. Like I say, I don't want to discourage you from adding Project tags to articles that need them, it's just that it would be even more helpful if you do the assessment at the same time. Request for watching article:Soy cheese due to vandalism

[edit]

This article is constantly vandalized by one single user, who seems to plan its deletion or destruction (see also Talk:Soy cheese). I am watching over the article from now on, but it is better when more people interested in this subject (especially vegans, people with dairy digesting problems like lactose intolerance or Jews) are looking upon this more frequently.
Thank you :-)

Hey, I saw your name on WP:F&D, and I noticed that you were interested in lists of healthy food, so I was wondering if you could come by Odwalla and help out and/or contribute to its peer review. Thanks a bunch! Intothewoods29 (talk) 22:17, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group

[edit]

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided - one is April 8 (Wednesday) starting at 6 pm and the other is April 18 (Saturday) starting at 10 am. (Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration.) Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 03:54, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kiva Wikipedian team

[edit]

Hi, I'm contacting you because you have a userbox indicating that you are a Kiva user. I'm just letting you know that I created a Kiva team for Wikipedians, and wanted to invite you to join it, if you want to. The more the merrier, you know. :-) Jon Harald Søby (talk) 19:06, 23 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
