Notability of Dr. L.A. Viehland

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Dr. L.A. Viehland, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Proofreader J-Man 04:43, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Larry Viehland is a significant, theoretical, physcial chemist. Aphilo is checking with him to see how he might meet wikipedia's notability requirements.

You left an unsigned comment on my (previously blank) user page. Comments to other users go on their talk page (like this one), not the user page. Please do not leave comments on other users' user pages. --Proofreader J-Man 20:07, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I clicked the talk link before, and was brought to your user page. In the future, it looks like I'll be brought to your talk page. I'll try to sign from now on, as well. Thanks. Still checking with Dr. Larry Viehland.

A tag has been placed on Nontheist Friends, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 21:08, 21 June 2007 UTC)

This is an article that gives information about the Quakers; it isn't a listing of individual Quaker groups, which is why I've removed your last few links. Thanks. -FisherQueen (Talk) 15:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I looked at their web site, but I didn't see that the Pendle Hill Bookstore was a publisher of significant books about Quaker faith and thought; I'm not sure how this link adds information about Friends to this article. Have you read the external links guidelines? They might help you decide what kinds of links will be useful. Thanks. -FisherQueen (Talk) 15:17, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi FisherQueen

Pendle Hill Press is a Quaker press, and the bookstore there is a Quaker bookstore. (I worked there). Which additions did you remove? How do I get to your talk page - your talk page doesn't seem to offer the opportunity to talk? Thanks, Aphilo (Talk) 15:29, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I didn't see that your link was to a press; the web site didn't make that clear, or else I didn't look in the right place. Sorry. Still, adding a link to a business you work for is a bit of a no-no because of the conflict of interest- nevertheless, I appreciate the sources you're adding to that article. Go, you. -~~

I worked there 15+ years ago; - a form of on-the-ground knowledge. The others are bookstores under that heading, too, I think.

Yoga poll

[edit]

Hi! There's some discussion on whether using "asana", "yogasana" or "yoga asana" as the article title. If you are acquainted with the subject, you are invited to drop your opinion at Talk:Yogasana#Opinion Poll on this article's name. Davin7 10:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am very unsatisfied with the quality of this article, and nearly deleted it. I have ennumerated my issues on the talk page and am engaging who I percieve to be the articles main authors. Your contribution in the discussion would be appreciated. --Shaggorama (talk) 05:16, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Donald MacLeod

[edit]

Thanks for starting the article on Wee Donald: it might not be Featured Article ready but it's a great deal better than nothing ;) Calum 13:05, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Bodymind, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. A tag has been placed on Democracy school, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Democracy school and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sorry about this. Basketball110 17:04, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Jacques ehrmann

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jacques ehrmann, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jacques ehrmann seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jacques ehrmann, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit]

A tag has been placed on World University and School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. I'm concerned about this revert. The material that was removed was contradictory, confusing, and appeared to be personal interpretation. I believe that edit should be reinstated. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 10:30, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OER inquiry

[edit]

Hi Aphilo, I'm sending you this message because you're one of about 300 users who have recently edited an article in the umbrella category of open educational resources (OER) (or open education). In evaluating several projects we've been working on (e.g. the WIKISOO course and WikiProject Open), my colleague Pete Forsyth and I have wondered who chooses to edit OER-related articles and why. Regardless of whether you've taken the WIKISOO course yourself - and/or never even heard the term OER before - we'd be extremely grateful for your participation in this brief, anonymous survey before 27 April. No personal data is being collected. If you have any ideas or questions, please get in touch. My talk page awaits. Thanks for your support! - Sara FB (talk) 20:35, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
