Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia with this username. This is because your username, Archeologo (Fondazione Mansutti), does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:21, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I'm the wikipedian in residence at Mansutti Foundation, that's the reason because I have this username in every wiki project.

Accept reason:

Looks like you have been unblocked. HighInBC 15:18, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Jimfbleak:, this username seems permitted under the "name at org" provision - any objections to unblock? Max Semenik (talk) 22:34, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Max Semenik, I'm afraid that I object to the unblock. What the policy permits is real name plus organisation, eg Simone at Fondazione Mansutti, but it does not permit job title plus organisation eg Secretary of the XY Foundation. The current name is not permitted since it is clearly in the second category. While I understand the desire to keep the same name across Wikis, it can't be used here. The user is not prevented from creating a new account, and in my view should do so Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:46, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak:, "Archeologo" is not a title, it's their WP username - Archeologo (talk · contribs). Max Semenik (talk) 06:23, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Max Semenik, My understanding is that "Archeologo" is Italian for "archaeologist", which is a job title. I'm not too bothered about blocking this user name for an obvious good faith editor, and if you think I'm wrong on what is, in this case, a mere technicality, please feel free to unblock Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:33, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have a BA in Archaeeology, but this is not my current job. ;) And, for sure, this is not my incumbent position at he Mansutti Foundation, where I am just a wikipedian in residence (my salary comes from a different employer). --Archeologo (talk) 12:20, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK, fair enough, I've unblocked this account 13:49, 17 April 2016 (UTC)
