Userboxes[edit]

May you please stop editing my userboxes. Thank You Chairsenses (talk) 23:55, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies. I realize the userbox (singular; I only made changes to one) was in user space, but I figured you wouldn't mind a friendly edit or two. You are, of course, free to revert the changes (an action I see you haven't taken). --Areldyb (talk - sign) 19:32, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with Category:Russian Orthodox Wikipedians[edit]

I'm trying to fix a problem I found at Category:Russian Orthodox Wikipedians. The category apparently lists itself as a subcat, but I can't find where. My best guess is that it's in the template it transcludes, but if that's the case, how do I keep the template on the page without causing the recursion? --Areldyb (talk - sign - contribs) 02:48, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is indeed due to the User:UBX/Userbox/Russian Orthodox userbox template, which unconditionally categorizes any page that transcludes it into Category:Russian Orthodox Wikipedians. See the {{Usbk}} template which displays userboxes in tables on pages such as Wikipedia:Userboxes/Science. The template documentation (in section Template:Usbk/doc#Category suppression) mentions several standard methods for telling a userbox template not to categorize a page which transcludes it. I'll look at some userbox templates that use that method and see if I can add one to User:UBX/Userbox/Russian Orthodox. Hopefully User:UBX will not mind that too much, but I will ask first. --Teratornis (talk) 04:46, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
User:Willscrlt/UBX/categories explains how to make a userbox conditionally categorize a page that transcludes it, so we can disable the categorization when we want to. --Teratornis (talk) 04:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I left a request at User talk:UBX#Category suppression. You should monitor the template to see if User:UBX changes it. --Teratornis (talk) 05:03, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Mets is slightly inactive. Just make the change yourself - he won't mind. Cheers, xenocidic (talk) 03:45, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your rollback request[edit]

Hello Areldyb, I've granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Please remember, however, that rollback should only be used to revert vandalism, and should not be used to revert good-faith edits or to revert war; misuse of the tool can lead to it being removed. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 02:01, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
