Information icon Hello, I'm ProClasher97. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to University of Kelaniya have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. ProClasher97 ~ Have A Question? 05:59, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

UoK is a public (state funded) university in Sri Lanka. We do not have commercial purposes in the Wikipedia.
The course structures are included to prove the teaching quality of each faculty, and institute for Quality Assurance purposes.
Ranking details are included following Oxford university.
Please be kind enough to approve the changes if possible. Arjunuok (talk) 06:16, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, are you being paid to make these contributions? Best regards, Vukky TalkGuestbook 06:19, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What are the promotional contents here? Arjunuok (talk) 06:23, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I am an authorized person from the University of Kelaniya, and I can not have false information on it's Wikipedia page. Not a single promotional content included in the edits Arjunuok (talk) 07:02, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjunuok: I highly suggest you read WP:COI and WP:WWIN before you continue editing. ProClasher97 ~ Have A Question? 07:10, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I’ll once again remind you that I highly recommend you read the Conflict of Interest guidelines before you continue editing. ProClasher97 ~ Have A Question? 07:42, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is no such conflict of interest, or promotion in this matter. This is a voluntary service to correct the wrong info on web as a part of protecting university's goodwill.
The information that appears on the "University of Kelaniya" after you undo my changes is WRONG.
Please specify the content where there is advertising or promotional tone, I could change that then.

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Arjunuok. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. I’m going to reiterate. Are you being paid to make these contributions? If so, you must disclose that information. ProClasher97 ~ Have A Question? 06:28, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not paid. Voluntary work at remove WRONG info and update accurate info.
Allmost all the information on University of Kelaniya Wiki page are inaccurate. Need mjor revision. Arjunuok (talk) 08:32, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted your latest edits to that article, as most were unsourced and had non-English text. NytharT.C 09:09, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
