Re: Why give welcome?

[edit]

Because I didn't know that he was blocked, and because I think those welcome templates give vandals at least the chance to go out there and get to know some of the basic rules around here. I believe it should be good practice to put welcomes on each talk page, especially for vandals.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 13:56, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well personally I think it's weird, he's vandalized under two different accounts and an IP address, and done it over 40 times. Too late for a welcome. --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 13:59, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Holidays!

[edit]

Hi my friend! How are you... I am back to Wikipedia to have some fun! Feel free to be "Asher Watchdog". Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the note about User:12.45.169.249. I have some concerns about the linking to analogstereo.com. Its not clear to me that the site has the right to make those manuals downloadable for free. The PDFs are all copyrighted and the links on the page to the terms of use just redirect to the home page of the site. The site doesn't appear to address the copyright status of the material it make available. If the material is a copyright infringement, then the site shouldn't be linked (see WP:EL). I think this is an interesting case that deserves wider discussion. I'd recommend posting about this site to Wikipedia talk:External links and see what the editors there think. Thanks, the same thing about copyright occured to me also this morning. I'll post there. --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 17:25, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your friend?

[edit]

csvndl has struck at History - I have offered a blank4 - and that makes 3 or 4 edits - all vandalising - I would suspect that the user/editor requires help one way or other SatuSuro 16:36, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think he needs help, it's intentional vandalism -- he needs to be blocked. --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 16:40, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wish all the problems were so obvious - we have some sneaky b..s around the place that arent so honest! SatuSuro 16:43, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, much harder to deal with, I found a probable sockpuppet of a banned user last night changing eye colors of characters. Without proof of sockpuppetry and without knowing the true eye colors, nothing I can do. --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 16:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well it all goes to prove that we gotta have a sense of humour with all of this - I put in Wikipedia:Can we help you? at christmas time as I was going crazy with red link newbies.. anyways I better get off - happy new year! SatuSuro 16:51, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh as we speak - alphachimp has wiped it out (blocked permanently csvndl), oh well another day another vandal - from western australia - a deiinite good night this time! SatuSuro 16:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I wish Australia was closer (to Canada) I need to buy a Didgeridoo. --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 17:15, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
.. and here's an ongoing problem from late last night - wonder why they do it User talk:Chrisnabity --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 17:17, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey to send you a didgeridoo by sea mail wouldnt be that difficult :) The two reccent isp;s at Adam smith - you got one and I got the other - I wouldnt be suprised if they were the same - where the isp number moves from the provider otherwise two problems a mere number away from each other. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SatuSuro (talkcontribs) 16:22, 5 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
I'm off - but the coincidence of the two numbers at adam smith in a row seems odd. and both edit histories is vndlsm. maybe its our friend returning :) oh well seeya again soon SatuSuro 16:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
198.86.93.240 and the other are registered to North Carolina Research and Education Network [1] - it's probably a U.S. community college student with nothing better to do --ArmadilloFromHellGateBridge 21:27, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
