A tag has been placed on Arthurfan123 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. May 2009[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for advertising or self-promoting in violation of our conflict of interest policy and notability guidelines. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Toddst1 (talk) 17:11, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Arthurfan123 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have understood the reasons for the block on this wikipedia. I do not wish to have this blocked again because the contribution is as valid as contributions for such artists as Bon Iver and Florence and The Machine. Their wikipedia pages contribute track listings and we wish to add a very similar thing for Arthur Delaney as we are his publishers. There must be a way for us to do this and we are willing to follow all steps necessary to achieve a "VALID" Wikipedia contribution. If you could guide us through this process, it would be much appreciated. Damon Felt Music

Decline reason:

You are blocked for using Wikipedia to promote somebody you have a commercial interest in, which we discourage per WP:COI. Because you seem intent on continuing to do this, I am declining your request.  Sandstein  15:51, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Help request[edit]

I'm trying to get an Arthur Delaney wikipedia page at the address www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arthur_Delaney_(musician). I work for Arthur's publishing company in London and we are trying to get this up and running. How do we go about doing this? Attempts have been made, however they have been deleted. Please help!!

Damon

Hi. Please start new conversations at the end of this talk page (that's why I've moved it down here - makes things easier to read). Also, please remember to 'sign' every time you write something on a talk page, by putting ~~~~ on the end - this puts your user name and the date.
Due to 'conflict of interest' issues, it is strongly recommended that involved parties don't create or edit articles. Also, the article must meet notability requirements which, in this case, would be WP:BAND. If it meets those, then there are options - you could create an article (with references to reliable sources etc) in your user space, and then request that the article be created in the live area by someone else. If you decide to go ahead with this, please read WP:BFAQ, WP:COI and WP:BESTCOI.
The most important thing, for now, is that your account has been blocked. You need to sort that out before you can do anything else, by following the instructions in the notice above (ie request unblocking, explaining that you have read and understand the policies, etc)
Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  09:37, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok thanks Chzz

So how do I go about getting this up? Some direction in this would be much appreciated.

Hi, Arthur -- you aren't actually prohibited from creating or editing articles for subjects you're closely involved with. You're permitted to do it, but your work will come under closer scrutiny than it might otherwise, because other editors will be very alert for conflict of interest issues. So you should tread very lightly in terms of adding material that looks or sounds overly promotional. You should also remember that if an article is about a musician who doesn't seem "notable" -- see again WP:BAND -- other editors will be quick to urge deleting it.
As Chzz suggested, you can start editing an article in your "user space" -- e.g. User:Arthurfan123/Arthur Delaney (musician), where you can edit it in peace and even ask other editors for feedback or advice on the content, until it's ready to move to the main article space.
Hope that helps, and welcome to Wikipedia! Tim Pierce (talk) 14:48, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

Please put help requests at the end of your talk page, in a new section (like this) - put the helpme template, followed by your question. Cheers,  Chzz  ►  12:59, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help request[edit]

Thanks

I have one more issue. The problem is how do I go about editing the page and submitting previews. It appears I have been locked out of the page? I really want to get this to work and I cannot find away to do this. I understand that it can sound a little too promotional. I will amend this in due course, however I don't know how to go about doing this??? Please help.

Damon

Oh, I didn't notice that you had already been blocked. Just follow the instructions in the box on this page, under "May 2009" -- start with Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks to understand what's expected of you. Tim Pierce (talk) 11:53, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
