December 2013[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Australasian Maritime", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Dlohcierekim 05:28, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Australasian Maritime Institute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Dlohcierekim 06:17, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

THIS IS AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION. You would think that moderators would ask for more information before randomly asking for a speedy deletion, putting onus on the contributor and negating any onus upon themselves.

You may not have a username representative of any organization. Please read Wikipedia:Username policy. Thanks Dlohcierekim 08:07, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please read WP:CSD. ALL articles must have verifiable information from reliable 3rd party sources unconnected with the subject that show the subject meets notability requirements. Please read WP:GNG and WP:V
You will need to change your user name soon as this one will be blocked from editing. Thanks Dlohcierekim 08:13, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have applied for a change of name however this has not been actioned as yet. I requested this change before the speedy deletion notice was issued.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Australasian Maritime Institute, a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion and appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. The best way to avoid deletion is to provide information about the subject from published sources. Using the Wikipedia:Article wizard will give you step-by-step instructions Dlohcierekim 08:19, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Australasian Maritime, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:21, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
