Your first article[edit]

Hi. I see all the tags atop Dr Richard Parkinson. The article is already in article-space. You can't call it back. Improve it where it now resides. Let's deal with the tags one-by-one.

  1. Conflict of interest can be a problem. I've personally become involved (see here and here). Please read through the Plain and simple COI guide. I don't know if you and your company are representing the doctor or if you're just very interested in his stature being acknowledged. It really doesn't matter because the same fundamental Wikipedia policies and guidelines apply.
  2. The article does read like an advertisement to promote the doctor and his practice. To remain on Wikipeia, the article needs to be edited so that it is encyclopedic.
  3. Referencing is easy once you learn the drill. Read through the first two paragraphs of Referencing for beginners and watch the first five minute video. Now referencing consistently is just filling in the blanks.

That's a start. We can deal with the other tags later.

And now to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, usually just called WP:MOS. The encyclopedia has specific conventions for biographies (and most other types of articles).

  1. MOS/Biographies establishes guidelines for all biographies. Wikipedia biographies never are named with Doctor or Professor or similar titles WP:CREDENTIAL. Since you don't have enough edits to be auto-confirmed, I'm going to move the article and add an entry to the disambiguation page for you.
  2. WikiProject Biography sets the standards for biographies and recommends format and structure that should be used unless there is a compelling reason not to do so.

That's a lot to deal with all at once. Take your time. Learn a little at a time. Click the Edit beside the title to see the wiki-code I used to create this section. You'll also see color changes as I move the article title to Richard Parkinson (neurosurgeon). Red is a red-link, a link to an article that doesn't exist; blue is a link to an article that does exist in Wikipedia.
