- To be clear, while I reverted your change of the publication date on Eugénie Grandet, I appreciate that you are trying to improve the encyclopedia. Your source was incorrect in this case, but I hope you'll stick around and help out wherever you're interested. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 19:19, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- Why this source was incorrect? Berd-port (talk) 19:34, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not sure. It could be that it refers to a 2nd edition or something, but every other source I found when investigating whether your change (and source) was correct indicated 1833 as the correct date. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 19:40, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- You have not any source that confirmed 1833 edition? Berd-port (talk) 19:46, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- As I indicated above, every source I found confirmed the 1833 date. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 19:49, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- every source I found confirmed the 1833 date. You can see other source of Bibliothèque nationale de France.
Berd-port (talk) 20:29, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

- Whatever language that's in, I can't read it. And yes, I know that you found one source that (for some unknown reason) has the incorrect date of 1833, which is what I assume the above post is regarding. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 20:37, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- You can read it in translate.google.ru/ Источник был у тебя под носом в низу страницы: This source you can had seen above https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Authority_control
- Thanks. Whatever it says, though, the fact remains that the book was published in 1833. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 21:14, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- Where indicatated? Berd-port (talk) 21:31, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- I have added a reference to the article regarding the 1833 date. More could be added, but would clutter the lede, and are unnecessary. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 21:44, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- The First publication = Le début du roman aura été préalablement publié le 19 septembre 1833 dans l'Europe littéraire1, sous le titre Eugénie Grandet, histoire de province.

The First publication of hole = 1834 What about was my source, dear freand Berd-port (talk) 23:51, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
- I'm afraid the language barrier is too high for me, Berd. I can't figure out what point you're trying to make. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 00:11, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- Why you can`t imagine, that in 1833 the novel had been only began to be published in some periodical issu and finished in 1834? Was published by parts from 33 till 34. The 1st hole edition - 1834, not 1833! Berd-port (talk) 08:17, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- Getting angry because I'm having difficulty figuring out your mix of broken English, French, and some other language isn't helpful. I now realize you're talking about it being serialized. Even with that being the case, the date of publication is still 1833, not when the last installment came out. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 14:31, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- Dear Kevin, big pardon for my English, as I was in a hurry. My final note, translated from French: (Roman paru en partie dans l'"Europe littéraire". - Première éd. en libraire en 1834)

The novel apeared partly in «L'Europe littéraire» [French revue]. The 1st edition as a whole in 1834 in "Études des moeurs au XIXe siècle" <...>

The publication began in September, 1833, and that first appearance was partial (incomplete). But in Russian Brief Literary Encyclopaedia (vol. 1, 1962) you can see: «Евгения Гранде» («Eugénie Grandet», 1833) http://feb-web.ru/feb/kle/kle-abc/ke1/ke1-4272.htm I will not disturb you any more about this evident ambiguity. Berd-port (talk) 17:10, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- I have no problem discussing this with you, as it does appear there is some ambiguity, as you say. My only issue is that I struggle to understand some of the points you try to make, because of the language barrier between us. Hallward's Ghost (Kevin) (My talkpage) 17:43, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
- In this case I feel (& felt) your mind better (it may be), than you can have a sansation of mine attitude. It was my problem to announce. Sincerely Berd-port (talk) 19:31, 27 January 2016 (UTC)
