You have twice inserted the word misguidedly into the statement it is classified as a native species there and is consequently protected. To call the protection of this species misguided is a subjective opinion, dependent on one's point of view (fruit growers probably think it is misguided, other people who like them would not). In any case it violates Wikipedia's neutrality of point of view, and has been removed. It is neutral to explain different points of view; it is not neutral to assert a single point of view as fact.
