I would like to submit an article on Kubera- his origin,his rise to fame and his displacement by king Solomon, which is entirely based on the following articles published in the Wikipedia. The articles are - 1.Kubera,2.Skanda,3.Vela,4.The great bear,5.The Gerrahs of Muscat,6.King Solomon,7.Mantra Pushpam, 8.Ara Padai Veedugal from www.Murugan.org.9.Goddess Artemis,10.Vaishravana etc.I find that the material is available in parts on the same topic Kubera.I would like to connect the facts stated,interpret the mythology and prove that he was a historical figure who lived around 1000 B.C.I would like to know whether I can submit such an article to Wikipedia.All the facts that will be stated will be only from the articles of Wikipedia.Bksatyanarayana (talk) 08:20, 7 June 2012 (UTC) B.K.Satyanarayana[reply]

As far as I can tell, www.Murugan.org does not meet the Wikipedia guidelines for a reliable source whose claims could be included in Wikipedia articles. If you can't find these etymological theories and claims spelled out in published books from reputable academic publishers, then I would expect them to be removed from Wikipedia. And if you continue to add improperly sourced content to the encyclopedia, you could eventually be blocked from making contributions.

My suggestion is this: Do not edit articles for now. Instead, notice that every article as a talk page to which you can contribute your suggestions. By bringing up your ideas on the talk page first, you can find out if a consensus of other editors supports adding them. If there is no consensus support that it is appropriate material, then the additions won't be able to remain in the encyclopedia anyway. Best wishes, Wareh (talk) 16:24, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Such an article would violate a fundamental policy of ours, no original research. See WP:NOR. Articles are not to be written to 'prove' anything, they are meant to reflect what reliable sources say about a subject. See also WP:NPOV. In any case, we already have Kubera.
