Welcome
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, Blackcohn, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that you have an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that:
- Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- Most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- Freely-licensed images may be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images, from where they can be used on Wikipedia and many other wikis?
- We recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process - at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

[edit]Anyone is welcome to edit articles in wikipedia, however, for the community to be able to work properly, it is the policy of wikipedia that people should conduct their edits in a reasonably civil manner per WP:CIVIL. So far, however, in just a few edits on Uyghurs, you appear to have deliberately demeaned the ancient city of Khotan by calling it a "remote village", and being rude in your edit summary. Who I am is irrelevant, what is relevant is that you should avoid being confrontational and provocative. Further such behaviour will lead to warnings and eventually you being blocked. I understand you are new, but please don't write message to me on my user page, that is for my own use if I wish to use it. Use my talk page here if you wish to discuss it with me. Hzh (talk) 02:41, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
You can either continue the conversation on my talk page, or here where I have copied what you wrote and my reply:
Uyghurs
[edit]hi Hzh,
I have seen you are the most contributor of information about the uyghur people here in wikipedia. It really does upsets me when I see three uyghur girls from Hoten represents entire uyghurs on the image display frame while other ethnicity such as russians, uzbek and kazakhs have their famous one displayed on their own page. I think uyghur people deserves better representation on wikipedia. tell me what you think.

- It doesn't bother me one way or the other whether who gets placed as the image. People can only work with the images available. If you wish to upload some pictures of well-known Uyghurs, then by all means do, but please note that there are rules about what kinds of pictures you can upload. Please check WP:Image use policy for further information. Hzh (talk) 02:51, 5 August 2013 (UTC)
