Request reason:
At my university I seem unable to make any edits, from my IP address. I presumed it was just that I could not set up an account, so set one up elsewhere, but I cant really edit from. The IP address in question is 109.175.170.0/24. Thanks if you can try to help.
Decline reason:
Coming up as CU confirmed sock. Now directly blocked. Elockid (Talk) 12:03, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
*What message are you receiving when you attempt an edit? Tiderolls 02:31, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- There is a checkuser range block affecting the IP. It was set by Deskana on March 11th. Account creation is blocked on the IP. Peridon (talk) 09:41, 1 April 2012 (UTC)

Request reason:
Why have I now been blocked directly, this is stupid, so you want me to now need create yet another account just to operate from a different IP? Im not the cause of the block, its hitting an entire university building, so no one in it can edit.
Decline reason:
Procedural decline per user blanking talkpage. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 13:40, 4 April 2012 (UTC)

- "Yet another"? How many so far? Peridon (talk) 14:38, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Please list all of your account names, and indicate which of them is your original account. You do not need multiple accounts to edit from any ip. But you aren't allowed to create accounts to avoid a block on yourself, either. It's hard to evaluate this request without knowing the other accounts you have been using. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 14:42, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
I don't have any other accounts, but I did edit a bit from the IP address above, or sometimes another IP if I was at another computer. I did occasionally edit with a friend on his account (im not sure if that was allowed and I don't know the username)(Blackcurrents (talk) 15:02, 1 April 2012 (UTC)).
- It isn't allowed, actually. One person per account is the rule. What things did you edit, and can you remember when? I can find no edits done from the IP address. It might be helpful to know the university in question, too. Peridon (talk) 15:29, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- Would you care to explain Colquhoun1 (talk · contribs) who is a direct match to this account? Colquhoun1 is also highly likely to be 13tallinn (talk · contribs) who is blocked as a sock Edinburghgeo (talk · contribs). All appear to be editing from the same machine and don't appear to be editing from a desktop either. Elockid (Talk) 15:46, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
- I'm having trouble reconciling 'you want me to now create another account' with 'I don't have any other accounts.' They appear to be a contradiction. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 16:03, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Im sorry, but i have no idea what Colquhoun is, they dont appear to have ever edited from what I can see? I only really gave advice on my freinds account, or helped him a bit, I wasn't ever just editing what i wanted on it at all. I think it must have been about January since I last edited (Blackcurrents (talk) 16:42, 1 April 2012 (UTC)).
- No edits on Colquhoun1? There's 6 edits there I can see that are for public view. Elockid (Talk) 16:50, 1 April 2012 (UTC)
Ok, yeah, you are right actually, I looked at the wrong thing, sorry. To clarify above, this is my only account, a very long time ago i did have my own account, but no idea what user name/ password was, think it would be at least 2 and a bit years, and only for a very short time come to think of it. Perhaps only one to three edits at most (Blackcurrents (talk) 16:54, 1 April 2012 (UTC))
im just thinking, cant the IP address potentially change at some points? Blackcurrents (talk) 17:12, 1 April 2012 (UTC) .
- 109.175.170.0/24 = 256 addresses 109.175.170.xxx - will probably cover all the University. 109.175.170.0 resolves to static IPs at United Kingdom Cablecom Networking Limited in Edinburgh (but the actual user can be anywhere in the UK - we do not have a working geolocation system, just shows where the ISP is located.) - I'm sorry, but I'm in agreement with Fisher Queen. I'm a bit skeptical of what you're saying. There are problems with your explanation. Elockid (Talk) 15:04, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
Please, if your worried about me, just check my account now and again, what I said was that because you have not only let me bypass the range block, but also blocked my account. I have never been blocked directly before. It would just be frustrating if I need to set up a new account from this one to edit from a different ip, I think I might be able to bypass the restrictions by using my university email so may look into that.
- I more than quadrupled checked it. I welcome any other input though. Also, FYI, as long as the rangeblock is in place, accounts may not be able to edit either. Elockid (Talk) 17:11, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
- Also, another note, both you and Colquhoun1 created an account in the same place (they were created at another location other than your present your location). What's odd is that both of these accounts were created in another country, but in the same exact place. I have already stated there is some likely connection between Colquhoun1 and Edinburghgeo. Could you comment on this? Elockid (Talk) 17:39, 2 April 2012 (UTC)
It was using the address on campus, as opposed to accommodation i think, I think in my residence it might be connected though some global system. What country are you talkng about?
