"I hate weblogs and bloggers" —User:Bloghate

I've voted keep on all your VfD nominations... I hope this doesn't change anything between us; what we have is so special, I would just hate to ruin our relationship over this. You need a hug. —RaD Man (talk) 08:27, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

So you hate bloggers.....

[edit]

If you hated a certain president, would you rip pages out of Brittanica?

Y'know, I myself hate abstract Expressionish painting. On a list of random names, I couldn't tell you which ones were significant abstract painters and which were non-notable or even non-existent. You seem to have the same problem with blogs and bloggers. So far, you have nominated for deletion some of the most significant bloggers, including people for whom blogging is only one part of what makes them notable: David Allen, Joi Ito, and Hossein Derakshan, to name a few. How about turning your energies, which are clearly impressive, to writing and editing topics you care about? betsythedevine 12:17, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Little Irrational

[edit]

Blogging is an important part of the current landscape and deserves a place on wikipedia. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean they shouldn't be listed.

Agenda?

[edit]

Might I suggest that you change your approach to editing Wikipedia? Your present effort seems to be aimed at getting every article related to blogging deleted. That is not going to work; the concept of blogging is a notable meme. What you instead should do, is examine Category:Bloggers and filter out those people that have no claim to fame other than by being a blogger. (See WP:BIO and WP:VAIN). Those articles would indeed be deletable - but several bloggers are notable for being, say, the vice president of a major company.

I've recently been doing something similar for 9/11 victims... people are not notable simply because they died in 9/11. That does not mean that those who died in 9/11 cannot be notable for other reasons.

Also might I suggest that you change your username? Judging from people's reactions, your present name is hard to take seriously. Just a thought. Yours, Radiant_>|< 14:38, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

You marked this article for vfd, but you left the link to the old vfd debate. I have removed the tag, as you did not follow the Wikipedia:Deletion process, and had not created the new debate page within 12 hours of adding the vfd tag. You are welcome to re-add the vfd tag as long as you create a proper vfd page for the debate. Cheers. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 16:26, Jun 17, 2005 (UTC)

Disruptive activity

[edit]

Please allow me to echo the sentiments of those who have commented here before me. It would be greatly appreciated if you would stop nominating bloggers for deletion. I find your account name to be offensive in light of your actions and am formally reiterating the request of others to stop being disruptive. Hall Monitor 16:58, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Please stop removing Category:Bloggers from articles about those who use blogs and the links to their blog sites. Hall Monitor 21:50, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

warning

[edit]

Please stop removing information from articles without specifying why (and hating blogs isn't a valid reason). --W(t) 03:18, 2005 Jun 23 (UTC)

Anti-blog agenda

[edit]

Your whole anti-blog thing is silly. You sound a lot like the people who love to announce to everybody that they don't own a TV set because the "boob tube" is stupid, and hence they're culturally superior for not ever watching it. The Onion did an article making fun of those people once. Now the new target of some cultural elitists is blogging. Certainly, a lot of blogs are silly just like a lot of TV shows are silly. However, there's also some good stuff both on blogs and TV. If there's non-notable stuff on Wikipedia, it may be worthy of deletion, but it's ridiculous to delete everything that has to do with blogs, just like it would be ridiculous to delete everything that has to do with TV. *Dan* 03:36, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

I think you're missing the point Dan, Most of the other people on WP:AN/I are pretty sure that Bloghate is someone whose vanity article on their own blog was deleted, and now has come back in a meta:Role account to prove a WP:POINT. It's tiresome, but it happens all the time. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 14:30, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)

Blocking indefinitely

[edit]

Having reviewed all of this editor's contributions, it's clear to me that it was created with the sole intent of disrupting Wikipedia by removal of mentions of the phenomenon of blogging. I am blocking it indefinitely. --Tony Sidaway|Talk 22:03, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
