Re:Adding Photos

You can add a photo directly into the article by clicking "Upload File" on the sidebar and following the instructions outlined at Wikipedia:Uploading images. Then you would add the link to the article. Be aware, though, that all images need to be released under a proper license or they need to have a good fair use rationale. Images that don't have licensing information or a source will get deleted. Wikipedia can't use images that are protected by copyright unless they are handled carefully. That's excellent that you took the photos. That makes everything a ton easier, usage-wise. Basically, it's standard, when you want to include photos, to upload them to Wikipedia and link to the photo page within the site. By linking to Photobucket, the reader has to go to an unverifiable personal website. There are similar (though slightly different) views on linking to things like Youtube and MySpace; user-generated content sites are generally avoided for external links. Did you look at the link for Wikipedia:Uploading images? That should cover all the steps. I can help you if you have a specific problem with those instructions. Leebo⁸⁶ 18:36, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

By "the page is not updated" do you mean the Boston scare article? You'll need to add the link to the photo directly to the article (see my example here), and no you don't need approval to upload the photo or add it to the article, but you could propose its addition to the talk page first if you want other editors' opinions.
