Huberman[edit]
Your additions to the Reception section of Andrew Huberman's page are replying to a Coda Story (which I wrote, but did NOT write the Wiki entry). Your assumption of "During the actual podcast the article is seemingly referring to" was the wrong citation. His claim about sunscreen being found in neurons 10 years after application was on a different podcast: https://twitter.com/LabMuffin/status/1628913655113986048/video/1

- The melanoma quote--"saying he's 'as scared of sunscreen as I am of melanoma"'--starts at 1:37:02 of the Dr. Rhonda Patrick episode of the Huberman Lab Podcast. That podcast episode is what I cited to. It is indeed where he made the Melanoma quote. And, if you notice, I did not delete the portion of the Wikipedia entry that includes the Melanoma quote. Rather, I supplemented that portion of the entry with a more complete explanation of what Huberman said about sunscreen during that episode. I also provided the primary source citation, so that readers could watch the full episode themselves and reach their own conclusions. I don't see why you believe it is beneficial to include the quote in isolation and to delete the link to the actual podcast where he made the quote. That is selective and agenda driven editing. It is not truth seeking behavior.
- Also, I would appreciate it if you could point me to the full podcast episode where he made the ten-year claim. What you've cited to is a very brief segment of that podcast. Given its brevity, it appears very possible that that segment takes something he said out of its complete context to support an incomplete narrative that has the effect of unfairly portraying Huberman as untrustworthy. The reason I hold that view is that Huberman's been very consistent in stating some sunscreens are safe and some may not be safe. If he didn't take that approach during the podcast you're citing to, then that would change my view and many other peoples' view. And that is the reason why the entire podcast episode should be cited to and not just a very brief clip of it. Bobbysteinhere (talk) 14:50, 9 February 2024 (UTC)

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Andrew Huberman, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Introduction to contentious topics[edit]
You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations.
