Speedy deletion of "Ivica Bednjanec"[edit]

A page you created, Ivica Bednjanec, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how they are important or significant, and thus why they should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for biographies in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

    • (Response to post on my talk page). I wasn't the one who deleted your article. I'm not an administrator, and only administrators can delete articles. If you click on the article Ivica Bednjanec, red link, though, it will tell you that the article was deleted by ing up a page saying that the article was deleted by Jimfbleak, on the grounds that the article doesn't make an assertion that the person is notable. I did, however, recommend that an admin take a look at the article for possible deletion by placing a speedy deletion tag on it. I did this because I all I got from the article was that Bednjanec was a web comcis artist, and the standard for inclusion for web comics is quite high. Maybe I misunderstood the article, but if it's going to come back on to Wikipedia, it probably needs some editing to show that Bednjanec is an important artist, because I couldn't get that from the article as it was. What you may want to do is ask Jimfbleak to "userfy" the deleted article for you, and if he agrees, he'll place a copy of the article in your userspace for editing. If he does that, I'll try in the next couple of days to take a look at it and see if I have any suggestions as to whether it can be improved. Hope that helps. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 19:35, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You can sign your talk page comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~ I deleted your recent article because it did not provide independent verifiable sources that it meets the notability guidelines. The "article" consisted of the single sentence Ivica Bednjanec is famous Croatian comic author. with no indication of why he is famous, or if he is famous enough to merit a Wikipedia entry. The rest of the article was a reference to Croatian Wikipedia, which is not a reliable source. If the article is rewritten, it needs to make it clear why he is famous, with proper references Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:02, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
