Spanish Am..

[edit]

Hy! Sorry for the delay in my reply. I'll check what can be done and then get back to you (probably in the respective articles talk pages). See you! The Ogre (talk) 09:44, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please STOP adding back Spanish to the Hispanic American Category.

[edit]

Spanish people and people who are European who happen to live in Latin or Central America are NOT Hispanic. Knowing many people who are "Mexican", but who's whole families recently came from Spain or other European countries, they are considered white, not hispanic. The term Latin can refer to people of Spain, Italy, France, etc. People who are mestizo can also be called Latin, but the term "Latino" is used more; which is also used interchangeably with "Hispanic" to describe race. "Latino" and "Hispanic" are used to describe people of mixed ethnicity - Spanish (European) mixed with Native or Native and African. "Hispanic" also refers to the region, culture and language of Spanish-speaking countries, but when referring to race, hispanic is not used. A person from Spain is a Spaniard and a white European.

In the United States and Canada, etc. Hispanic American refers to people of mixed heritage from Central and South America, NOT Spain. Spanish-American is used to describe people who come from Spain. This was already discussed. If you keep re-adding Spanish people to this list, you will be reported.--CreativeSoul7981 (talk) 00:20, 11 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
