[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Michael W. Grieves a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Michael Grieves. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 19:37, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- I also don't understand the notification templates. Dr. Grieves clearly meets the notability guidelines. The Digital Twin concept concept that he originated is a major topic in both industry and academia. He is in the top 2% of scientists worldwide. There is no payment to me for this. I did not copy from any other Wiki page. I have a bio from a book publisher that I used. You can Google him to see all the references to his work.
- I'd like these templates removed. Unless there's an objection, I will do that. Bstarson (talk) 22:38, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- I didn’t put the notability template on but did put the paid contributor, as the draft was written by a now-blocked probable paid contributor. Once the history is added to the page so I can see your edits, I’ll most likely remove the paid tag, unless I see issues with neutrality that I would discuss with you. As to notability, just ensure that the criteria on WP:NPROF are met or that the criteria for WP:NAUTHOR are met and the necessary references included. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 23:24, 20 November 2022 (UTC)
- Why has the page been deleted? I did not copy from the page that is claimed to have something wrong with it, since I had no access to that page. What's going on here??? Bstarson (talk) 23:11, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
- I'm still waiting for a response. Why was this page deleted? Bstarson (talk) 15:43, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
- I had nothing to do with those actions. To get the attention of an administrator, type {{Admin help}} then add your question after. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 16:12, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
