Welcome

[edit]

Hello, CAN, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Also wanted to welcome you to WikiProject NASCAR! --D-Day I'm all ears How can I improve? 10:40, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zippy article

[edit]

I read your draft Zippy article. It looks ready for prime time. I think you should delete his wife and children's names for privacy reasons. --Royalbroil 02:40, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend against including a "pic with permission". They get deleted about 90% of the time. You have to jump through quite a few hoops. There may be pics available from free sources. I look forward to reading the final article. --Royalbroil 04:08, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy to help. The images thing sure is complicated. It's so complicated that I asked an image expert for specific advise for WikiProject NASCAR, and the advise can be found here. The only creative commons photos that can be used are: Attribution and Attribution ShareAlike, which are first and last here. I hope this helps! --Royalbroil 12:48, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for suggesting the merge with New Zealand Derby : have merged the two lists into one on the latter, and left behind a redirect on the former. Cheers, Sdsouza 13:41, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notice, I have fixed it now. That's what I get for copying from the Powhatan Beaty article. jwillbur 17:48, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Club at Berkeley

[edit]

Hi CAN, I'm just writing to let you know that me and some Wikipedian friends are launching Wikipedia Club at Berkeley, a student club for promoting participation in Wikipedia and face-to-face collaborations. If you're still living in the Bay Area and that sounds fun to you, please consider joining our mailing list. Thanks! Dcoetzee 01:04, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
