Welcome

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you've begun creating an article about the journal CUBO, with which you are obviously affiliated. I have a few suggestions, because I am afraid that you are going to run into a rocky experience here based on your initial actions:

  • First, the article List of mathematics journals begins by saying "This is a list of scientific journals covering mathematics with existing Wikipedia articles on them" (my emphasis). So please don't add any more links to the journal until after an article for it has been created; they will just be removed.
  • Second, your username is the name of an institution. Unfortunately, this is not allowed on Wikipedia -- accounts need to belong to individuals. (You can see the policy on usernames here.) I am not an administrator, but if you keep editing under this account, you are likely to be blocked -- you can see instructions on changing your username here, which will help avoid this.
  • Third, you are editing about a subject with which you have a conflict of interest. This is not forbidden, but it is looked upon with some skepticism; you can read our policies about that here. One way to deal with that is to declare your conflict of interest and to seek out advice from other experienced users before doing things like creating articles. Since CUBO is an academic journal, I suggest reaching out to WT:WikiProject Academic Journals for advice about whether your journal meets the criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia, and if so for suggestions about writing the article.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with questions -- you can find my personal talk page here. --JBL (talk) 18:49, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Randykitty (talk) 22:55, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
