A tag has been placed on ISALTApedia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain web site, blog, forum, or other community of web users that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:ISALTApedia. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Davidprior 15:21, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the articles you have created[edit]

Hi there. I looked for an appropriate canned warning to insert here, but I could not.

I'm sure you already know about Wikipedia's principles such as neutral point of view, no original research, and verifiability. They are particularly tough to uphold when dealing with articles on topics you are closely involved with.

What I want to say is that Wikipedia is not a place for self-promotion. If you and the projects you've created articles about are truly notable, then someone will create them. It's really hard to write about projects you're involved in using a neutral point of view. It's even harder to write about yourself with NPOV.

Regarding the last comment, either:

  • You are actually Carleton Palmer, in which case you edit your own article with considerable conflict of interest. Consider deleting the articles about yourself and your projects; others may as well.

or

  • You are not, in which case your username is inappropriate as it implies that you are.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Happy editing and best wishes. MKoltnow 02:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It is considered near-vandalism to delete stuff from your talk page, indeed from any page. An anonymous user has twice blanked the Carleton Palmer page. If you meant that as a request to delete the page, then: a) log in so that we can see who is editing, b) add the tag {{db-author}} to the top of the article and a few words of explanation in the edit summary. -- RHaworth 15:28, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article David Ecker, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.

I also tagged ISALTA and the Encyclopedia article for proposed deletion.

Please read WP:NOT and WP:AUTO if you want to understand my reasoning. MKoltnow 19:49, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to your user page (User:Carletonpalmer), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).

Please note that the purpose of a user page is not as a personal homepage or used as a general webhosting service, but as a way for active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. If you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues here or on my user talk page. You may remove the deletion notice, and the page will not be deleted for the moment, but note that it may still be sent to Miscellany for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
