What's the adaptation?[edit]

I copied your version to text and bolded interesting passages before learning of Neotarf's transcript. So I did a word count and only found around a 16 word difference. So I guess that means I don't have to read Neotarf's version? Thanks. Carolmooredc (Talkie-Talkie) 03:28, 14 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Proofread version[edit]

I watched the video and went through User talk:Neotarf/Jimbo civility speech transcript, section-by-section, and copy edited the transcript so that it is exactly in-line with what is said during the speech section of the video as per recording by MedEighty.

The WP:MOS does not provide guidance for copyediting of transcripts, however you may be interested in this short list of special-purpose editing standards, mostly based on Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition. The MOS, however, does cover dashes (see MOS:DASH)—note differences in spacing with n-dash and m-dash. Regards, —Neotarf (talk) 04:03, 18 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
User:Cirt created https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Jimmy_Wales_Speaks_at_Closing_Ceremony_of_Wikimania_2014 , which is very similar to this page, but has some slight differences.[1] The key difference is that the license of that flavor is CCBYSA, per release from User:Jimbo_Wales linked therein. Not sure if the same applies to the contents of this userpage, so to be pedantic, it might be worth soft-linking over there, or maybe back-copying the re-licensed stuff? Or at least linking over there, as there are additional pretty pictures, plus lots more excess whitespace.  :-)     Ping User:Carrite, since this is your userspace, you can prolly best decide what if anything to do here. 75.108.94.227 (talk) 15:27, 13 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
