Background parameter in infoboxes[edit]

Hi CatMan 149, you've been adding the "background" parameter in musical artist infoboxes (e.g., 2 Unlimited, Ray Slijngaard). This is now a deprecated parameter, so please stop adding it. Thank you. Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 23:53, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Is this a recent development? If not, oops. It's still shown in the template documentation (though very subtle), and I think the category for transclusions without this parameter should be deleted or something. Either way, thank you for informing me.
Is there a page with a list of deprecated parameters on Wikipedia? ~CatMan 149(talk) 00:20, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, it's relatively recent, within the last six months, I would say. I don't see it in the template documentation, not sure where you noticed it. The category should definitely be deleted, I saw that you were likely going though it systematically. Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a central location for deprecated parameters, sorry :( Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 01:21, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I had asked at the Help desk what the parameter is for (as I hadn't seen it in the documentation either) and was answered by RudolfRed, who probably didn't realize it was deprecated either. They told me there was a note about it at the very bottom of the page.
I don't really have much experience on Wikipedia, despite my one-year anniversary coming up in about a week-and-a-half. ~CatMan 149(talk) 02:10, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, no worries, that's totally understandable. Sorry if I came on strong at the beginning. Happy upcoming anniversary, and happy editing! Revirvlkodlaku (talk) 02:20, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
