AFT5 newsletter

Hey again all :). So, some big news, some small news, some good news, some bad news!

On the "big news" front; we've now deployed AFT5 on to 10 percent of articles, This is pretty awesome :). On the "bad news", however, it looks like we're having to stop at 10 percent until around September - there are scaling issues that make it dangerous to deploy wider. Happily, our awesome features engineering team is looking into them as we speak, and I'm optimistic that the issues will be resolved.

For both "small" and "good" news; we've got another office hours session. This one is tomorrow, at 22:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office connect - I appreciate it's a bit late for Europeans, but I wanted to juggle it so US east coasters could attend if they wanted :). Hope to see you all there! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 10:40, 1 August 2013 (UTC) archive

Wow - this does indeed look very interesting! Thanks for letting me know Charles. I'll have a closer look tonight.

Hi

Nice to get a thanks from you for my work at Talk:Timeline of Ulster Defence Regiment operations. It's menial, but somebody's got to do it. SonofSetanta (talk) 14:44, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Indeed - I thought it was nice to see someone link to an article I'd written, is all! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 14:46, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Which article was that then? BTW I'm, ex-cavalry so I'm the real deal! lol. SonofSetanta (talk) 14:59, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Bird class patrol vessel :-) Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 15:25, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
Ah yes, to illustrate HMS Cygnet, the anti-gun running patrol from Op Granada. She used to sit in the middle of Carlingford Lough when she wasn't on patrol. She was replaced in peacetime by HMS Enterprise (A71) which I think is still floating there although she's been beached a couple of times. SonofSetanta (talk) 15:37, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
