...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process – at least until you get the hang of things?

When adding an image, the caption needs to explain what the image is, especially when it's artwork of a subject. Further, in the case of artwork, it needs to be significant and representative of the subject to add it. —C.Fred (talk) 12:43, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
While I think you're editing in good faith, I'm concerned that you're adding images just for the sake of earning contest points, especially since you continue to add images with no explanation of what the image is. I too am getting rather annoyed. I have reverted the additions of obscure doodles to several papal biographies over the past few days with pleas that Chigozirim2005 stop adding them - to no avail. They just keep coming. Surtsicna (talk) 18:16, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Added to that, I will be reverting on sight any images added with #WPWP that do have a caption not is in clear, understandable English. A contest is very exciting and all, but I'd rather have some pages without images than have useless captions like "Spengler Schmall klein" or "Friedhof Aufkirchen Grab Fred Bertelmann". — JohnFromPinckney (talk / edits) 18:27, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
