Question, may I ask why you've decided to register an account simply to discuss the Essjay matter? To be blunt, that doesn't seem like the sort of thing a new user would be immediately attracted to. JoshuaZ 06:09, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nope. But considering stalkers like Brandt, I think you can see why protecting my identity is a smart thing to do. I have every right to hide behind an anonymous username in self defense. There is no conflict of interest or violation of WP:SOCK, since my usual account hasn't edited that page at all. Chipclip 09:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, it's cool that you want to stick up for Essjay, but don't hurt the cause by attacking anyone who doesn't feel exactly how you do. If you be a dick about something then people will just start to look at you being a dick rather than the important message you are trying to get across. -- Ned Scott 09:18, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't an attack. It was a statement of truth. Jimbo already commented, as evidence by the quote in the NewYorker. People just aren't satisfied with the answer. Chipclip 09:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
