Jack Splash

[edit]

Hi Chopchulo. I have cleaned up Jack Splash, an article you've extensively worked on. Besides what I talk about below, I have concerns that there's a conflict of interest given your extensive edits to the article—if you have some connection to Jack Splash and especially if you have been paid to edit, you must state so on your user page.

Firstly, the lead was overstuffed. I removed which specific songs Splash produced for which artists—this should be ideally covered in the prose below, and is already covered in the production discography table anyway.

Secondly, please do not insert false information. You added a significant number of false chart positions in a misformatted table; for example, you added a "1" next to "Now or Never" by Kendrick Lamar. I'm sure you're aware that song did not chart on its own—it was a bonus track on the album. The album itself didn't top any national charts around the worldwide (not even the US Billboard 200, where it went to No. 2), only the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. If this is what you meant, then you should not have put chart positions for the album next to songs from it.

As they were unsourced chart positions anyway (please see WP:V), I have removed all chart positions from the table, properly formatted it, and integrated citations you listed below the table as inline citations instead. Please keep the table as it is now; it is in a far better and more acceptable state than it was. (I also felt it was unnecessary to list songs Jack Splash produced as part of his own albums. As he is a record producer, it is generally expected he produced all songs on his own albums. The production discography table should be for songs he produced for other artists, not for his own work.)

I will be keeping an eye on the page, so please do not revert my edits (for the reasons I have outlined, it would be a serious step back for the quality of the page) or remove the refimprove template I have placed in the production section unless you substantially increase the number of citations for all information in that section. Furthermore, please do not reinsert false chart positions for songs or make extra-long paragraphs with incorrect use of boldface. Please see the WP:Manual of Style—we generally do not bold words in the middle of prose on BLPs, and paragraphs should generally be no more than four or five lines at most. This is so readers can more easily scan the page instead of seeing large blocks of information with a sea of blue links.

If you reply, please do so here; do not start a separate discussion on my talk page. Thank you. Ss112 10:38, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
