Chuckraverthy,

that 74 million number is being pulled out somewhere by all Tamil websites. Since Tamil language article is an Featured Article (highest quality article in Wiki), it is better to have a number backed by a high quality source like encarta than ones reported by web portals and relatively obscure news services. I understand that the 66 million is probably out of date by a few years, but we will be getting the census numbers in a few months and then we can revise the number upwards--Sodabottle (talk) 16:31, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I found an ethnologue source that says 68+9 mill and have updated it. Thanks for putting me to work ;-)--Sodabottle (talk) 16:36, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I must apologize as I was too curious to update the featured article (Tamil Language) with non-standard website references. But, at the same time, I was worried that the total speakers in the info-box had not been updated for ages. I feared that it would wrongly be understood that Tamil speakers are counted 66 million in the present. Anyways, finally, I am now happy that you (Sodabottle) spent some of your valuable time revising the world Tamil population from a very reliable source (Ethnologue)! :-) Thanks, bro! License tagging for File:IT Park.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:IT Park.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:05, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Blauk_Founder_Samson_Manickaraj.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:33, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:IT Park.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:IT Park.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 15:54, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
